Colin Nathan, inspirational Company Secretary of the IEA Clean Coal Centre for 27 years from 1985-2012 died on Saturday 2 January in Spain, where he had moved with his wife following his retirement in 2012. He had endured a long period of ill health.
Colin formed strong friendships everywhere he went and commanded great loyalty. He had great humanity and empathy, and understood that life could occasionally get in the way of work. He had a way of trusting others to do their best and instilled a high level of professionalism in all who worked with him. Colin organised many successful Executive Committee meetings both within the UK and internationally. Those who met him in their professional careers as colleagues were soon to be counted amongst his friends.

Everyone that worked with Colin will be indebted to him in some way, for some extra assistance or support he gave them. Colin worked tirelessly for the benefit of the Clean Coal Centre throughout his long career as Company Secretary. He was a gentleman who will be widely and deeply missed and is survived by his beloved wife Janet.
